Alexander H. Taylor, Ph.D. Vice President, Research Services.
Dr. Taylor holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from The University of Pennsylvania; and a B.S. in Microbiology from The University of Montana.
Dr. Taylor is an expert in the study of protein structure-function relationships. He is author of fifteen peer-reviewed publications and inventor of eight issued US patents plus five pending patent applications in the fields of antibody engineering and commercial biotherapeutic protein expression.
He joined PMI Bio following a successful sixteen-year long career at GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals (GSK), where he was the head of the Antibody Engineering and the Cell Line Development and Banking departments.
Prior to GSK Dr. Taylor pioneered humanization techniques at Centocor, Inc where he contributed to the success of Reopro and Remicade, two of the earliest monoclonal antibody based FDA approved biotherapeutics. Dr Taylor is an expert in antibody structure function relationships, immune system genetics, as well as heterologous protein expression for commercial production of biotherapeutics.
Dr. Taylor’s scientific and industrial experience provides crucial insight into the current needs of the biotechnology industry as well as direction needed to successfully translate nascent technology into commercially viable enterprise.
